Selling your products on the BuyNatural Marketplace comes with a number of selling options, one of which is deciding between selling through a Vendor Store or a Seller Store.
The most important difference between a Vendor Store and Seller Store is the entity that actually sells your products. Choosing to sell your products through a Vendor Store means BuyNatural buys your products from you, then resells them to their customers.
With Seller Store, you are selling your products directly to customers, through the BuyNatural marketplace.
This article is intended to explain the full scope, benefits, of each so that you can make an informed decision on which option best suits your company’s needs.
BuyNatural Seller Store is a shop front interface that is used by merchants to market and sell their products directly to customers within the BuyNatural marketplace. A BuyNatural Seller Store account is considered a marketplace or third-party BuyNatural seller (3PS). The BuyNatural seller is responsible for setting up and maintaining their seller account.
The BuyNatural Marketplace has two types of Stores; Seller and Vendor.
BuyNatural Vendor Stores are used by select manufacturers and distributors. If you sell through a Vendor Store you are considered a first-party seller (1PS). You are selling your products directly to BuyNatural in bulk and BuyNatural sells on. Registration for Vendor Centre is strictly by invitation only. Oftentimes, sellers start with a Seller Store and generate demand for their products to entice BuyNatural to buy their product in bulk through the Vendor program, like other eCommerce or brick-and-mortar retail channels. If a company is selling through a Vendor Store the phrase “ships from and sold by BuyNatural” appears on the product page.
Consumer confidence
Selling your products through a Vendor Store as a first-party seller ensures customer confidence by way of the BuyNatural name recognition. Customers will likely feel assured and confident placing an order through the BuyNatural platform, rather than a third-party site with less name recognition.
Expanded advertising opportunities
BuyNatural Marketing Services (BMS) can provide companies with a powerful tool that contains multiple options for getting products in front of shoppers. It allows vendors to drive demand through banner-targeted ad campaigns that are designed to increase traffic to specific product pages on BuyNatural.
Business model
For a vendor, the focus is on filling orders to BuyNatural, billing, and avoiding chargebacks.
Analytical data
The Seller Centre dashboard provides significant amounts of consumer data at no charge to the seller. You are allowed access to BuyNatural customer data that can better inform product trends like what products are getting views and where they are located. This can be invaluable when determining a marketing campaign to leverage this information.
Pricing control
As the seller, you have the ability to control the price you set, so if you are using other retail channels besides BuyNatural you can maintain uniformity.
Inventory control
If you’re a small to medium-sized business, being able to adapt to your customers’ needs can make or break your business. This is especially true if you produce a limited amount of product. Having physical control of your own inventory gives you the ability to adapt to market demands (consumer or vendor).
As a third-party seller in the BuyNatural Marketplace, you have two options on how to fulfill your orders. Fulfilled by BuyNatural (FBN) is the service where BuyNatural stores and fulfills your orders from the BuyNatural warehouse. They process thousands of orders per month through this service on behalf of third-party sellers. Fulfilled by Seller (FBS) is the program when the third-party seller opts to store and fulfill BuyNatural orders themselves or through a third-party logistics company (3PL) they hire and manage.
